- In the audience feedback (which is different from chatting and polling) you can clear all responses.
- Polling
- You can set up the polls ahead of time (when you schedule the meeting)
- When you run the poll the host can see the % of responses. There is a time counter that counts up.
- You can share the results of a poll (after closed).
- Use only authenticated uses. Requires them to log in with wiu email. This is better for tracking students.
- Term: the “Ribbon Menu”
- To set up a meeting if you use zoom.us you have more options than using the app.
- 4 ways to communicate (1) Just talk [can be cacophony] (2) Chat; (3) Audience feedback (open the chat and use the icons); (4) Reactions – in ribbon menu. Are removed after 5 seconds.
- Breakout rooms
- Can be pre-set (when you schedule the meeting) (or made on the fly)
- Can be named (especially if they have different tasks)
- Co-host can be set using the participants list. Co-host has all the power of the host (e.g., can start a poll).
- Alternative host. Can be set when you schedule the meeting. You have a host key that allows someone else (they have to have a pro zoom account) to host the meeting.
- To see who is giving the audio feedback, look at the participant list and look at the microphone icon.
- Classroom management possibility:
- “Type your own name in the chat if you want to be called on.
- Have a participant monitor the chat. Respond when they can and interrupt the host as needed.
- You can pop out things. Main zoom window, participants, Chat.
- You can have a reoccurring meeting and you can reuse a link. Also, once in the google calendar, you can repeat it in the google calendar.
- Can share files (‘attachments’) in the chat.
- Can change profile image.
