LaTeX (and TeX)

LaTeX is a high-quality typesetting system; it includes features designed for the production of technical and scientific documentation. LaTeX is the de facto standard for the communication and publication of scientific documents. LaTeX came out in 1984 and is an offshoot of TeX, which came out in 1978. More history at Wikipedia or latex-project.

LaTeX is used by numerous web sites and programs across the Internet, including GeoGebra. All math majors should learn LaTex.

LaTeX can be used in a small way to put mathematical notation into, for example, GeoGebra or Google Slides, or to create an entire paper or entire book with chapters.
